ABOUT US

We are the Recreational Ski & Snowboard Club at NC State! A laid-back, stoke-filled crew that’s all about shredding the mountains and having a good time with our fellow Wolfpack students. We organize multiple trips throughout the snow season, focused entirely on fun (and maybe a little friendly competition for gnar points). While we’re not a competitive team, we do take good vibes seriously.

Beyond just hitting the slopes, our club is about giving back and building community. We’re proud to participate in local charity efforts, help make skiing and snowboarding more accessible with student-friendly pricing, and create a space where lifelong friendships are made. Whether we're repping NC State on mountains across the country or organizing events back on campus, we’re all about sharing the stoke, supporting each other, and making the most of every snow season, together.

So how does it work?

Last time I checked, there's no mountains in Raleigh

we take a total of 7 trips every ski season! A fall retreat over fall break location TBD. Unfortunately we can't ski in the fall, but we've stayed at mountain and beach houses. It's a good time, and everyone gets to know each other before the winter season starts! Our first ski trip is Vermont over winter break ~1week. Three trips to snowshoe over holiday/long weekends during the semester. And finally, a trip to Boone to visit our local mountain for a weekend.

We take one BIG TRIP out west every year. The annual trip takes place over Spring break and lodging is separate from regular season dues (more information on dues below). In the past few years we have gone to Winter Park, Jackson Hole, Banff, and Steamboat! every out west trip is one week long, five ski days!

You can find our current season trip dates on our home page

How do we get there?

A week or two before every trip, we take account of who's coming by sending out a trip form. then we hold an in person carpool meeting to discuss plans and housing, organize drivers, passengers, gear cars, etc.

Where do we stay??

Airbnbs! big ones!!! we all get together like one big happy family, because we are!

Pricing?

-food/drinks for every trip is self sufficient. We love our grilled cheese and slope sammys!
-gas is split between your car
-winter and ski/snowboard gear is self sufficient, but we have access to great deals and discounts, so if your in the market and
don't know where to look connect with us!
-Lift tickets? we almost only go to resorts on the IKON pass! our Vermont trip, snowshoe trips, and out west trip are resorts included on the IKON pass. Our Boone trip is to Beech mountain resort, which is the only resort that isn't on IKON, but we get a group discount for lift tickets! you can find pricing and more information for the IKON base pass here \/ \/ \/

For our big trip over spring break, flights, shuttling, and housing costs are dependent on where we travel to. these costs are self sufficient

So how do I join?????

PAY UR DUES!!!
Dues for the club open towards the beginning of fall semester. there will be a fixed price offered and announced at our interest meetings, on our instagram and newsletter, and right here on our website, found on the home pages "
Registration" tab. paying your dues secures your spot in the club, and the cost of dues goes towards our housing for all 6 trips (does not include big trip housing) Once our club fills, it fills, and you will be put on a waitlist if the club is full. Dues only occur at the start of fall semester, and we do not accept new members during the spring semester.
