SHACKATHON
Every year, NC State participates in Shackathon, an event to fundraise for Habitat for Humanity. Student organizations bid on an eight-by-eight spot to build their shack. Throughout the following week, members of the organization must man the shack at all times while they raise money for the cause. In 2024, we were proud to raise over $1000 with the help of our club, and over $3000 in 2025!. We sold "genuine, hand-made shotskis" from repurposed skis that were donated to us by local shops. And as for the quality of our shack, well the pictures speak to that!

​If you have any old Pairs of skis sitting around that you would like to donate, shoot us an email at recreationalskiclub@ncsu.edu, and we'll arrange a pick-up for them.
SKLUB SHREDS BACK
We also started the Sklub Shreds Back initiative to better the communities we visit. For the past season, we have been doing volunteer work across the triangle, and running food drives for various organizations such as Boone Hunger and Health Coalition, North Central WV Community Action, and Parent-Child Center of Rutland County. This year, we plan to continue our philanthropic efforts by supporting organizations with a variety of donations- from hygiene supplies to nonperishable food. And with a growing club, we anticipate growing donations!

SKLUBBER
The Sponsor a Sklubber program is a community-driven scholarship initiative by the NC State Ski Club designed to make skiing and snowboarding more accessible to all students. Recognizing that the high costs of dues and Ikon passes can be a significant barrier, the club calls upon alumni, parents, and fellow winter sports enthusiasts to donate funds that go directly toward supporting members in financial need. By "keeping the stoke high" through these donations, the program ensures that every "Wolfpacker"—regardless of their budget—has the opportunity to hit the slopes and stay part of the pack.
If you have any interest in donating to the club for any of these great causes, make sure you pay the correct amount and only send payment to the account Ski Club at NC State at Pmccall2@ncsu.edu through the treasurers email.
